Description: The D4R dedicated rotary consists of turntable module, and a special chassis with cutting mechanism but without linear table drive motor and rails. It was produced for two distinct customer types: those who knew they would never process rectangular packages, and others who purchased a turntable for use with a DL-4 machine, and later decided for convenience to have their turntable permanently mounted as a separate machine.
Identify By: Turntable module mounted on solid block, no lateral rails. Control panel lacks "Stroke Size" adjustment.
Variants: The table block height was usually based on vertical dimensions of customer parts, with a cylindrical spacer installed between the turntable and part-centering platter fixture to bring the seal plane into the vertical range of the cutting tool. Equipment purchased used may require changes to the spacer and table block before different dimensioned parts can be processed.
Problem Areas: Worm gear and turntable table bearing wear, original motors may lug at slow speeds.
Status: Replaced by current production D5R3 (machine including turntable) and D5R0 (chassis only, for customers with existing D4RT or D5RT turntables).
Support: Fully supported from trouble shooting and retraining through complete overhaui to as-manufactured standards.
Overhaul Cost (Typical): $2000-3000 depending on condition
